Student life – do not trade your future for short-term gains
Students are considered the young intellectual class, the core workforce, and the future generation contributing to the construction and development of the country. Stepping into university also means that each person has started a new life, becoming more independent and taking more responsibility for their own future. Students can be divided into two common groups: those who solely focus on studying and those who both study and work.
For the group focusing on studying, most of the day is spent attending classes, self-studying, and participating in community or personal activities. Compared to high school students, university students have a more flexible schedule, so their available time is relatively comfortable. However, not everyone knows how to utilize that time effectively. Many people spend too much time on social media, video games, or entertainment activities while forgetting to cultivate knowledge. In the university environment, the spirit of self-study plays an extremely important role because lecturers mostly provide guidance, while researching and absorbing knowledge depend heavily on the students themselves. To be able to grasp more knowledge during the learning process, students should practice the habit of self-discipline and study harder.
Meanwhile, the group of students who both study and work has a much busier lifestyle. Besides attending classes and studying, they also have to spend many hours working part-time to cover living expenses or reduce the financial burden on their families. This helps students accumulate practical experience, hone communication skills, and develop independence. However, balancing study and work is not easy at all. Many students have to work until late at night, leading to sleep deprivation, irregular eating habits, and frequent physical fatigue. When work takes up too much time, studies can easily be neglected, academic performance declines, and sometimes it affects future career orientations. Some even fall into the situation of overworking just to earn immediate extra income, forgetting the most important goal of student life, which is to study and accumulate knowledge.
Besides, maintaining a well-structured lifestyle, getting enough sleep, and taking care of one's health are also essential elements to achieve good academic results. The majority of students often have the habit of staying up late for various purposes, which over time will negatively affect their health. If staying up late to study results in bringing a tired body to class or skipping class the next day, then that late night is no longer beneficial.
