An Italian friend and I met through OVFRIENDS and quickly realized we both loved writing. We started a game: writing virtual letters by hand.
Each week, we would choose a topic together. Then, each of us would write a letter responding to that topic, with no length limit, and send it to the other via private message.
A year later, when I had the chance to visit Italy, we met for the first time. She brought a gift: all of our “virtual letters” had been printed out, neatly stacked, and tied with a red ribbon. It was thicker than any journal I had ever kept. It was proof of a friendship nurtured by words, patience, and sharing.
