She was Olga, from Russia. I was a Vietnamese guy. The first time we talked, she said, “You Vietnamese people talk so fast, I can’t keep up.” I teased back, “And you Russian people are so cold.” The conversation hit a dead end, and we blocked each other.
Three days later, I received a message request from Olga: “So, do you want to slow down, or do I have to smile first?”, I burst out laughing and unblocked her.
We started talking again, about cultural differences and funny stereotypes. Now, Olga is one of my best friends.
