LG Electronics has officially unveiled the UltraGear evo product line, the latest generation of gaming monitors set to debut at CES 2026, featuring a secret weapon: AI Upscaling technology integrated directly into the hardware.

Historically, the biggest barrier to high-resolution displays (5K and above) has been the demand for immense graphics processing power (GPU). However, with the UltraGear evo line, LG has changed the game. The company has equipped these monitors with a proprietary on-device AI solution.
Its mechanism works by analyzing input image and audio data, then automatically upscaling it to brilliant 5K and optimizing sound in real-time. This means gamers can enjoy peak visual quality without placing a burden on their computer’s graphics card.
Details on the trio of new “monster” monitors
The UltraGear evo lineup debuting this time includes three main models, catering to diverse needs ranging from speed and contrast to absolute immersion:
1. LG 39GX950B: The new benchmark for Ultrawide OLED
This 39-inch monitor utilizes a Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, a stacking technology that significantly boosts brightness and pixel lifespan.
Highlight: The Dual Mode feature allows for a “one-touch” switch: play role-playing games (RPGs) at 5K2K resolution (165Hz) or compete in shooters at WFHD resolution with a refresh rate of up to 330Hz.
Experience: The 1500R curvature and 21:9 aspect ratio provide a spacious field of view, combined with a 0.03ms response time to completely eliminate ghosting.
2. LG 27GM950B: The MiniLED revolution
This is the world’s first 27-inch 5K monitor to overcome the inherent weakness of MiniLED technology: “blooming” (halos around bright objects on dark backgrounds).
Core Technology: LG uses a Zero Optical Distance technique to eliminate the optical gap between the backlight and the panel, combined with 2,304 local dimming zones.
Result: Peak brightness reaches 1,250 nits (VESA DisplayHDR 1000) while maintaining deep blacks and sharp details.
3. LG 52G930B: The world’s largest 5K2K gaming monitor
Designed for those who want to turn their setup into a true cockpit, this 52-inch model boasts a unique 12:9 aspect ratio.
Design: It has the height equivalent to a standard 42-inch monitor but extends to the sides, expanding workspace by 33%.
Specs: The 1000R curvature wraps around the field of view, and a 240Hz refresh rate ensures smoothness for every frame.

Beyond the evo line, LG also confirmed it will open sales for the UltraGear GX7 (27GX790B) on the very first day of CES 2026. This is a QHD OLED monitor with a record-breaking 540Hz refresh rate (boostable to 720Hz in HD mode), aimed directly at the professional eSports market.
