A Ghibli Dream

Linh was a final-year student majoring in Italian. She loved the language but detested the dry, repetitive vocabulary apps.

One evening, out of boredom, she was scrolling through OVFRIENDS and saw a profile with the bio: “My soul lives in the Laputa Castle. And yours?”

It was Chiara, an Italian girl. Her profile was filled with images from Studio Ghibli films. Linh boldly sent a message, starting with a clumsy Italian sentence about the movie “Spirited Away”.

They instantly connected.

From that moment on, Linh’s Italian learning journey took a new turn. They would spend entire evenings playfully arguing in Italian, constantly looking up words in the dictionary just to prove their points.
